Kevin Deans
Loudoun Stars Regional Director

Bio
Coach Deans played his high school ball in the Hudson Valley, NY where he was a high-level pitcher rising to a top player in the state as a freshman. He played on the 1994 NY State Class B Championship team as a pitcher and 1B and named to the Empire State Games Hudson Valley Regional Team. He played college ball at Washington Adventist University in Washington DC but suffered a serious injury at the end of his freshman year and decided to retire his baseball career as a player. Once his son was old enough, he too gravitated towards the great game of baseball and this reignited Coach Deans’ love for the game. This gave him the itch to start coaching. Coach Deans has been coaching little league, travel ball and showcase level baseball, including teams in Loudoun County, VA at 7U-15U for many years. He has coached for some of the best organizations in Northern Virginia. Cavalry Baseball, Loudoun South Little League and Stars Showcase Baseball. Several of the teams were coached to being top ranked teams in the state while winning many championships along the way. But putting trophies on the wall is not what Coach is passionate about. It is teaching the game the right way by helping players to develop their skill sets through the fundamentals and enhancing their baseball IQ along the way.
Currently he is a coach for Stars Showcase Baseball. In 2024/25, he is coaching a 10U, 13U Stars Travel team as the Pitching Coach and the 14U Stars National team. His current focus is on starting younger age travel baseball teams by teaching the fundamentals and focus on player development, as well as transitioning 12U age teams/players to the big field the right way for their 13U season. When not on the baseball field, he spends most of his time in his true passion, pitching as a certified pitching instructor at Rip City Baseball Facility in Loudoun County, VA. where he trains pitchers of all ages.
